On one Tuesday a month in March, April and May, a small group gathered with students in the UW Nutrition program to learn new healthy recipes. Some of the attendees have been couples on dates, parents looking for new ideas and one of us (Hint, Hint ME!) is a hopeless cook who wants to learn healthier ways to cook and improve my health. On the first Tuesday we made muffin tin Quiche and a side dish of regular potatoes mixed with sweet potatoes and sautéed them. The second class we made a veggie curry and apple coleslaw. All of the recipes were pretty simple to make and can be modified to your personal taste. If you are interested in cooking, keep an eye out for a four week long cooking classes coming to EMCC in the fall, put on by the UW Extension.
